Katies Last Concert at Bostleys

Its hard for me to accept our girl is growing up and is gonna be 5 in January. Soon it will be time to regisiter for Kindergarten and with that was the sad realization that this will be Katie's last Holiday Concert at Bostleys.

She did awesome and sang her heart out. She also got to hold the flag for the pledge. We were so so proud of her. Here are some pics. Please ignore the awful red eye I have not edited these yet but wanted to get them up for you to enjoy.

Where does the time go???

Mom asked me the other day why I had not updated my blog to at least tell you our exciting news (more on that in a second) and I was like yeah I know I need to but time just keeps getting away from me. Then I looked at the date and realized its been almost a month since I updated! Yikes! How did that happen????

Well here is our exciting news... After much debate and a trip to the pound, we are the proud owners of a puppy now 10 weeks old puppy named Reese cause he looks like a peanut butter cup. He is part chocolate lab and part retriever. And he is sweet as a candy cane. The girls absolutely adore him. And so do we......

Here is his pic:

Little Funny

So I was telling Jim about a video I had seen making fun of Lady Gaga's song Poker Face This of course made the song immediately stick in my head and I kept walking around this morning singing My My, My Poker Face... Sarah got very upset with me and said NO MOMMY DONT POKE MY FACE!!!

Now everytime I sing it she tells me DONT SING THAT ITS NOT NICE!!!!

We've been oinked!!!

SO Friday a week ago the girls got their seasonal flu shots. Then Tuesday I had to take Katie to Geisinger to see her pulminary specialist and at that time he diagnosed her with a sinus infection.... About this time Jim and I both thought we were coming down with colds.... Oh if we could only be so lucky!

Wed nite Jim cancelled his 2nd class of the nite and came home coughing bad with the chills. From there is just progressed. Jim then me , then Katie and now Sarah.... Its a very slow recovery but we are getting there....

I am pretty sure though that we had some form of the swine flu.....

Whisper Sweet Nothings

Whispering secrets is big in our house right now. Katie loves to whisper in my ear and tell me things..... And now Sarah has caught on. She will go Mom. Mom. I have a secret to tell you! I lean down and say ok and she comes up to my ear and goes swsip, shh, swwwpppp. And makes all these little whispering noises and then shakes her head at me and goes OK? It cracks me up every time!

Sunday Dinners

I love Sunday dinners. Big dinners with lots of family around or just our small family. I love the tradition of it and I love cooking these dinners. Sure I usually make a huge mess that Jim shudders at but overall I just love the warmth and good feelings that these dinners give me. I also like to think that I am setting some traditions up for the girls to follow. Todays dinner was a spiral cut ham, mashed potatoes, green beans and cauliflower. plus Homemade pumpkin pie for dessert.

Dinner was a huge hit with the girls. Both girls ate well of the ham and Katie did good on her mashed potatoes and ate all her veggies.... Sarah, I am proud to say actually tried a bit of cauliflower tonite. She didnt like it but at least she tried it.... Then both girls ate not one but 2 pieces of pumkin pie for dessert! Sarah was cramming the first piece in her mouth as fast as she could. Katie kept telling me it was the bestest pie ever! They both made mommy feel good... And of course I need to thank Meemee since it is her recipe......

I made the mashed potatoes from potatoes from our friends farm. I always struggle with homemade potatoes because I never seem to get them to mash as finely as I want. I usually have lumpy potatoes. I was commenting on that tonite when Katie told me she new how to make them better. She came over and whispered in my ear the secret to making good mashed potatoes...... Are you ready for it?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Is to start with good potatoes.... So now I know....... LOL

Take care

Happy 3rd Birthday Sarah!

Happy 3rd Birthday Sarah. Its hard to believe that the sweet and snuggly baby I gave birth to is now a sweet and sassy 3 year old.... Sarah, you are so incredilby fun at this age. You have a belly laugh that can make anyone one smile. And when you smile, it lights up your whole face and makes everyone smile with you. You are all girl loving all things pink and purple and anything princess or barbie. You love to dress up in your princess gowns and play with your barbies....

You also are still in the midst of the terrible twos and have quite a temper to prove it. Your latest is to let out a war cry when you dont get your way. We are working on that! But despite that, you still remain sweet and like to help everyone and to surprise people'. You love to sing and love to dance. You love for mommy or daddy to pick you up and swing you around .

You love to be read to and love to hear Dr Zeus books and Maisy books..... You love to hug your sister and the two of you do a huggy dance together. Your imagination is blossoming and you now have an imaginary friend named Kasey.

We love you our little Sarah Beara. We are so glad for the day you entered into our lives and became part of our little family..... Happy 3rd birthday sweet girl

Halloween sneak peak!

If you see this cute little ladybug and cutie pie Hospital Dr show up at your door on Halloween make sure to give them some treats and not any tricks!

Miss us?

Have you missed us? Sorry for the long lapse in writing. WE have been busy and have been doing alot of stuff but I have been in a bit of funk and just have not felt like writing. For that I apologize. I just have been feeling really defeated lately.... It makes it hard to write and be upbeat when you feel like this. The girls have been butting heads a lot lately and I have had a lot of problems with Sarah and potty training.....

But we have been having some good times as well. WE kicked off Oct with Brandon and Jen's wedding where the girls were flower girls and did a darn good job if I do say so myself.... Here is a pic of that:

The following weekend we went to the pumkin patch. There are pics of that but they are on Jim's camera and have not been uploaded yet. Then we had lots of rain and some snow! Here are pics to prove it.. My pretty roses with snow, pumkins with snow and my mum with slush..

This past weekend we went up to liberty, pa for a hayride at a friend of the family's farm. I am always struck when getting there at how quiet and peaceful it is there. Our hayride is normally during nite time but since it was on a Sunday this year due to said snow above we had a daylight hayride. So much fun! The girls were thrilled to play with their cousins and the other kids and also got to see the cows. Now we are gearing up for Halloween and Sarah's birthday.....

Soccer - Opening Day Game

So Katie had her first game on Saturday which was also part of opening day. It was a lot of fun with bouncy house and other games along with a consession stand, but the real fun was watching 4 and 5 year olds play soccer. They are just so cute with their little legs and their socks that sometimes go up all the way to their shorts and then the way they play. They get bored and distracted easily and then there was the little boy on the opposing team- the ball came towards him, he did not like where it was so he bent down, picked it up and moved it to where he liked it and then kicked it in for a goal.....

Katie did good overall. She is a little timid when the ball comes to her and she also tends to get distracted on the field but overall she did well. Here are some shots of the team and Katie playing....

Ramblings

So no real topic for today just some general musings and rambling......

We went out to dinner last nite and it was such a good meal. Good food, and the girls were angels.... We just went to a local Italian place that we love. the girls were so excited cause that meant spaghetti or as they call it sketti. They would eat it every day if I let them..... We ordered some appetizers last nite. Jim ordered some calamari and then Bear ordered breaded cauliflower. Both were yummy althought I can only do the rings in calamari- I cant do the whole little octipi.... Just cant do it.... But it was cute cause I offered Sarah some salad and she said NO tank you, I get sketti..... I then offered her the cauliflower and Jim and I both about fell off her chair when she took it, ate it and asked for another piece.... The girl who only eat lettuce, carrots, celery and corn actually ate a different veggie!!!!!!

The waitress was in love with our girls and she came over and talked Katie into letting her cut up her spaghetti. It made a difference because I think Katie ate over 3/4th of her dish! Sarah prob ate about half.....

I had made soup the nite before and Sarah was so excited. That girl loves her soup..... She ate really well. Katie told me it was yucky at first and would not touch it.... I am nut sure what happened but then she deicded to try it and decided she liked the pasta in (I used pastina) but she was not touching the chicken in it.......

I am not sure if it is the cooler weather or the fact that I have some sinus congestion but on Friday at the store I bought some English Breakfast tea and some African Red Roobis tea and I have really been enjoying a cup of tea lately. I even got Bear hooked on the English Breakfast with me.....

Class is going really well for me. Katie still likes to study with me.... She keeps saying she wants to be a hospital doctor so we will see..... I had my first lab exam and was so pleased to get a 94 on the exam!!!! Now I need to study for the lecture exam which is on Tuesday.....

Katie has been back to school for 2 weeks and is really enjoying it.... She even asks me to pick her up later in the afternoon so she has more time with her friends. Her and Daddy are set to go on a field trip to the Baltimore Aquarium later this month. I am sure they will have a blast....

Summer is not quite over

Jim took the girls to see the local farm baseball team last nite while I had class and lab. Katie has gone several times but this was Sarah's first time. She lasted 2 innings which was not too bad.....

First Day of Preschool

So Katie started back to preschool today. She was very excited till this morning. Then she was a crabby little girl. I think it was her nerves. We got to school and her friends Dylan and McKennah were there and yelling HI KATIE.... She went right to circle time and sat down with everyone. Mom and sissy were forgotten....

Here are some pics to comemorate the occasion

My Study Buddy

So Katie is very facinated that I am going to school. When I read my A and P book at nite she often climbs up in my lap and asks me what I am studying. I do my best to put it on a level she can understand and sometimes she is really into it and other times she says thats Interesting, I am gonna watch Backyardigans now....

So today I was talking to her and I was explaining what her wrist is how there are 8 little bones in that area. She looked at her wrist and said WOW thats alot. She then told me her beloved JOEPA told her alot about how your body works and how that there are 68 bones in your pinky finger. Each the size of a dipping dot..... It was all I could do not to laugh since she was being so serious......

Back to the Grind.

So classes started this week for Penn College and Jim is teaching 2 nites and I am taking class the other 2 nites. Add in 1 nite of soccer for Katie and we have a pretty full schedule this fall.... I was so nervous going back to class this week but actually met another non traditional student in our class and after class this week -I think I am really going to enjoy it. I have a really good professor and the class is very interesting....

The girls are doing well- but have been fighting alot lately. Katie is just very into trying to dictate to Sarah everything . She gets to be very bossy and then Sarah gets mad and the fights ensue. I think it will be good when Katie starts back to school here in the fall and they will get some seperation as well. I think Sarah and I will do a class with the library as well.....

I had to laugh at Katie this morning. I came into the playroom to see her dressed in her bathrobe and she told me she was playing church. then she informed me that the butterfly nets were the offerings.... That girl seriously kills me! I can't believe how much she takes in and then relates it back to her play.....

Have a great weekend....

My very own fan club....

I walk at 630 am most mornings with my next door neighbor and alot of mornings I have my fan club waiting at the window to wave and yell hello to me... Some mornings its Katies mom, other mornings it Sarahs mom and this morning it was HI MRS FOLMAR!!!!! Lol. Katie and Sarah.s little friends from daycare live in our neighborhood and are early risers so they usually sit in the window and wait for us to go by to yell hello.... It puts a smile on our faces every time!

School is back...

or will be shortly! Katie starts in just over 2 weeks. She will be going 3 days a week- m,w,f and we found out today she will be in Miss Jess' room. Katie has always had a good repore with her so I am pleased that she will be in her room. Now Jim and I are working with her to get her ready . She does not deal well with change so we are starting to talk about it now so she will be ready in 2 weeks....

And she is not the only one going back to school. I have decided to go back to school and am starting back this fall. I am easing into it very slowly and am taking 1 class this fall -anatomy and physiology. I am going back for surgical tech. I have class thisfall on tue and thu nites....

Wish us both luck!

Dog Days of Summer

Well as many of you know- its more like the Rainy Days of summer..... On friday we had really heavy downpours. I told the girls that we needed to go grocery shopping. They were so excited to go. why you might ask? Because it was pouring rain- that meant rain jackets, froggy rain boots and duckie umbrellas. At first I thought it was overkill. But as we got in line to pay for our stuff and I saw how dark it had gotten outside and how hard it was raining, I was super glad they had it. It rained so hard - the stores debit and credit card system went down....

We went on Saturday to Bald Eagle State park outside of Mill Hall and had a wonderful afternoon. We bought a small charcoal grill and roasted hot dogs and then made smores. yummy! I had to laugh at Sarah. She pulled all the marshmellow out and ate it, then took the chocolate out and ate that. then ate the graham cracker.... The park is really nice and has a nice lake with a beach. the girls had a blast playing in the sand and in the lake.... It was a perfect day for it.

On Tuesday the girls and I met up with our friends Miss Kim and Katie and went swimming at the loyalsock pool. Again the girls had a blast swimming! It was such a fun afternoon!

New Hair cuts!

We went today for long overdue haircuts. Katie got a trim but I was more radical with Sarah. I got fed up with her putting her food in her hair and not letting me comb it and all the knots. Plus its so thick and heavy. So we went for a bob. I think they both look adorable!!!

What A Week!!

We have had a crazy and busy week this past week. First and foremost the girls started swim lessons and its been rough to say the least. Sarah has done ok with it but Jim or I have been in the water with her. But she loves the water to begin with. Katie has a love/hate relationship with water and HATES to get her face wet. So there were many tears this week when it was time to go under water and blow bubbles... She gets in the water on her own with her class and instructers (no parents in the water) so its been rough for her..... We did have a decent lesson on Friday and she did pretty good... Now we are off for 2 days so I am not sure what Monday will bring.

On Tuesday I went with my next door neighbor to a garden party and a progressive dinner. We got to see some amazing gardens and enjoy some yummy food. The one garden we went to seriously reminded me of the secret garden...

Wednesday I ran to Dushore to meet Lisa and pick up Courtney and then we came back, had dinner and then went to see the new Harry potter movie. It was sooo good. We both loved it. I thought the director did a great job and brought a lot of humor to the movie which it needed as there are some really dark points to the movie.

Thursday we ran back to Dushore to hand Courtney back off to Lisa and then came home and after swim lessons came home and had Jims friends and their 5 kids over for dinner. All the kids had a blast playing together. And it was so nice to meet Jims friends and hang out with them.

Friday the girls and I just kinda hung out at home since we were all kind of tired from our week and the late nite we had on Thursday. After swim lessons we went to our good friends the Speichers for dinner. We had a wonderful meal and the girls had a great time playing together....

The girls were thrilled this week when Bear returned from conneticut and brought them their favorite character bubble bath. However Sarah I dont think understood what it was, because after spilling it on my carpet we heard her in the bathroom crying and saying This dont taste good. Here is princess bubble bath and its pink. The same color as her princess toothpaste! Yup she tried to brush her teeth with it! After rinsing her toothbrush for awhile and making her repeatedly rinser her mouth, we hid the bubble bath....

Tonite I went to get a cannolli out of the fridge and ended up dropping a plate on my foot. It landed vertically on my foot- down below my big toe. Its bruised really badly and swollen....

Well, all those who made fun of me with the van and the kid playing soccer- its gets worse! This week we got a e-mail from the guy who runs the league- they needed more coaches - wanna guess who volunteered??? NOT ME! Jim did!!! Guess its a good thing we have that van now huh???

On a very sad note,. I am sorry to say that we got a phone call from Jim's aunt in Conneticut letting us know that his grandmother had passed away. Funeral services will be later this week. Jim and I are so thankful that we took the girls up to see her about a month ago!

10 on Thursday

Another week of summer has passed and its hard to believe its still so comfortable. We have not had one day of 90 degrees this summer... So without further ado here is my 1o:

1. Because of all the cool and rainy weather, we were able to harvest our first crop from the garden. Yummy lettuce! The girls started out liking it- I had to keep an eagle eye on Sarah cause she kept sampling and then putting it back. But now they are saying they don't like it...

2. As much as Katie loves boy stuff - she is a squeamish girl when it comes to bug. She was all excited to pick lettuce till she saw a snail on the one leaf.... Then she would not set foot in the garden.

3. Jim thought Penn dot had been here because her and Sarah then sat in their lawn chairs while I picked lettuce.

4. We made brownies today and had them for snack this afternoon. Katie told me I was the best baker in the whole world and I made the best brownies... Ummmm no, that would be Duncan Hines.....

5. Both girls love to help in the kitchen and bring their stools out to help me. I try to find small jobs for them since they love to do so much but Sarah always has me laughing when she helps me cause she goes OK COOKER MOMMY. What next cooker mommy?

6. Next week the girls start their swim lessons. Hopefully the weather will warm up some.

7. Next week is such a busy week for us. I have a garden party to go to with my neighbor, a movie date with my niece and a cookout with friends and oh yeah- closing on our old house...

8. Our neighbors dog had puppies and I got to meet them today. she invited the girls down to see them but I am afraid they will cry if they cant have one and they puppies are all spoken for....

9. I was so excited yesterday in the supermarket- Cookie crisp brought back their vanilla cookie crisp (although it has sprinkles this time). Katie decided she had to have it so we bought it and I called my Sis when I got home to tell her (it use to be one of her favs but has not been around for sometime). Jenn- Katie pronounced it dewishous this morning.. It tastes like the old school one!

10. Car carts at the grocery store are the work of the devil! Seriously. I feel like my hair must stand on end by the time I get out of their when I take both kids. They either are fighting for dominance in the car part or they unbuckle the belt and are bolting out the sides as I try to look for stuff.....And then the best part is trying to steer the beast! Its no wonder I come home and am like oh darn I forgot--------.

Have a great weekend!

Painting fun!

So the last few days have been ehhh weather wise, so mommy had to get creative. I knew I had to give the girls a bath yesterday, so plotted out a course of action and it worked pretty well if I say so myself. I fed the girls a messy lunch (meatballs and noodles), then got the fingerpaints out and the art pages and the paintbrushes in case they wanted them and the art smocks (aka old t-shirts) and let them go to town. Courtney and Christopher got in on the action as well and I think all 4 of them had a good time! And lets just say- thank god for magic eraser!

Turtles, Butterflies and Snakes OH MY!

We also visited Clyde Peelings Reptile Land recently. A place I swore I would NEVER EVER visit. Why would you who is deathly afraid of snakes and all things that are creepy ever go to such a place? Well, because they have a butterfly exhibit!
We had a rough start because we (the girls and Courtney and I) met up with our friends Miss Kim and Katie and went right for the live show. They do quite the graphic slide show then they bring out live animals that you can touch and ask questions of. Our Katie was freaking out. They brought out a baby alligator first and she was ok - she refused to touch it but was ok with being in the room.... Then they brought out the boa constrictor and our sweet little girl began to get hysterical. And when she gets upset, Sarah feeds off of it. So for every one's best interest, I took both girls out and told the others we would be by the turtles.... The turtles made them happy.... How could you not be happy with this little guy sunning himself?
Or this big guy eating his lunch?
The 2 Katies look at the big turtles.. Yeah I know I am not calling them the right thing... Forgive me!
Soon the live show ended and we took a walk over to the butterfly exhibit. This is just so neat and so much fun. Butterflies just fluttering all around you... Every where you look, they are there. I am really excited over some of the shots that I got!
The girls had so much fun looking at all the butterflies...
Then it was time to head indoors to look at all those animals... Um yeah I don't have a lot from indoors cause it is pretty much snakes and well, see above.... But here is a picture of the girls looking at a snapping alligator turtle.
This picture just cracks me up every time I look at it. Katie and the Gecko...
Overall I was impressed with how well the girls did and after we ate our lunch, the girls asked to go back to the butterfly house and see the indoor exhibits again as well! Somehow in a moment of weakness, I agreed to take our Katie and Courtney back for Bat weekend.. Gulp... well I have plenty of time to get brave - right? Right??

Cruising on the River!

Two weeks ago we were invited by our friends and neighbors the Connors to have a big family outing and go on the local paddle boat that goes up the Susquehanna River. They run a family cruise nite every Tuesday nite and its such a nice time for very little money. Plus they also have make your own sundae on there too! That was all the girls needed to hear to want to go! Lol. We have known the Connors awhile now through our daycare/preschool and then they moved into Bear's neighborhood shortly ahead of us so now we are neighbors too. Its so nice because their son Aidan is one month younger then Katie and their daughter Gabrielle is 1 month younger then Sarah. The kids are really good friends from having been together at daycare and in the same class. Its nice that they will now continue that on into public school.

So we set out for our cruise..... Here is a shot we did before we got on the boat- from Left to Right= Sarah, Gabrielle, Aidan and Katie. Seriously- don't you just want to eat up all that cuteness!

Here is Katie deep in concentration telling Denise something...

Gabrielle or as Sarah calls her MY Baby Elle, and Sarah holding hands. They do this every time they see each other. So sweet.

Sarah and Katie, dancing together on the cruise.

Such a fun nite with great friends all around! The biggest laugh of the nite was Katie telling us she wants to have her birthday party on the Hiawatha( that is the boat's name)... And she wants it to be a surprise. Lest you forget, Katie's birthday is in January! I think that would be quite the surprise!

Joe Pa town

Last week while Courtney was down, Jim decided to take a few days off and take us all down to Happy Valley for the day. For those of you not from the area- that's State College, PA home to PSU and Katie's most favorite person in the whole wide world- her beloved Joe Pa. First up was a trip to Beaver stadium which is so overwhelming in person and to the statue of her beloved Joe Pa. I would love to share pictures of that with you, but My camera's setting was accidentally knocked to the wrong position and my pictures that I took were all over exposed... BOO! But on the good side I told Jim we need to take another ride down there to get pictures with her and Joe Pa again :)

After a trip to Joe Pa we went to main campus and took a little walk till we found the lion shrine... Here are some pics from there:
The story of the Nittany Lion
The lion:
Cousin Courtney on the lion
Katie near the Lion
Katie, Mommy and Sarah - Sarah would not sit on it by herself...
We then went and got some lunch and shopped downtown before returning to campus to go to the creamery. This is one of my most favorite places now on the PSU campus! They make homemade ice cream and it is delish! Plus they make a whole slew of other products like cheese and such. You may or may not know that Ben and Jerry attended a workshop on how to make ice cream from Penn State. So that should tell you how yummy their stuff is. After that we headed back home. When I asked Katie if she had fun, she said yes dis is a fun town to visit but I think I would like even more to LIVE here. Lol. Maybe one day Katie bugs.... Then this past week as I was uploading pictures she came over and said hey are those the pictures form Joe Pa town?
Lol!

What we have been up to lately

Sorry its been awhile since I have posted. The girls and I have been on the run and have had their cousins with us for the last 2 weeks. So I have alot of posts and pictures coming your way. Sit back and enjoy!

R U Kidding me?

So as you know we are in the process of selling the house. Today I went down there to get more stuff to move down to this house (mainly the girls wagon) and I walked into a nearly empty garage. Yup We've been robbed! They took every big ticket item and then took weird random little stuff to. Like 2 1 gallon bottles of bubbles I had for the girls and fuzzy dice that were a gift from my sister that Jim had hanging. they took the girls wagon. They took the lawn mower, the snow blower,a moutain bike and many many more things. I am just shocked. And angry. On one hand its just things and can be replaced if needed but it just angers me that someone would do this. We called the police and are reporting it to our insurance but its still so infuriating.... Jerks! who takes a kids wagon? and bubbles???

Whew! What a day!

So here is my 1o for today

1. I took the girls to the library today. What the heck was I thinking? It was a miserable rainy overcast day and everyone and their brother had the same idea. God Bless those women working there- it was a madhouse. People returning books, people checking books and movies out. people bringing their kids for different play groups or just to play with everything the library has to offer.

2. Which brings me to my next thing. The library had neat little stations for the kids to play with.... But really could you watch your kids while they are at these stations? Most parents did but this one woman just kept leaving her son and wandering all over the library. And the kid was a BRAT. He was hoggingthe play kitchen and the food and everytime my kids tried to play with it he grabbed it from them and he made another little girl cry cause he would not share....

3. They have a music station at the library. Its a little piano and a Xilaphone. this boy about 8 seriously kept hitting the same key over and over again on the piano.... We walked out of the childrens; section and my ears pretty much cried in relief....

4. I absolutely adore Sondra Boyton and we got a book we don't own out of the library and I have read it so many times to both girls already that I am amazed that I dont have it memorized yet!

5. I got some recommendations for new authors so I got a few books out for myself... But if anyone has any recommendations I will take them!

6. I have a 4 year old going on 13. She told me I was a mean mom because I didnt let her have her way with something... 5 hours later she was still harping on it..... Then she told me she wasnt going to talk to me for the rest of the nite ( as I was putting her to bed -hahaha).

7. We went out with my cousin and his fiance last week for dinner. We went to a local mexican restaurant that has a pretty friendly kids menu. Katie ordered a grilled cheese sandwhich. It came she started eating it and about half way though the meal she goes hey where is my tomato soup?? I guess she is a pretty routine kid huh? What makes it funnier is whenever we have that she never eats the soup just the sandwhich...

8. We went to conneticut last weekend to see Jims family. The hotel had an indoor pool and the girls were estatic to go swimming. We got to the hotel room and they immediately began stripping to get in their suits....

9. We put them in swimmies and were amazed at how well they did. Sarah is so close to swimming with nothing on and does fantastic with them on. Katie did great as well and was floating on her back and everything. We go for a swim test on Sat for a class they are taking in July. This will place them for the class and we also put up our pool as well... I think we are going to have a fun summer....

10. We have had Sarah in her crib converted as a toddler bed but now we are looking into getting her a twin sized bed. My baby is getting so big!!!

Take care and have a great weekend!

Forgot this story....

Yesterday afternoon the girls and i were all snuggled up in the chair with a blanket and some teddy grahams and were watching their cartoons. Its Nick Jr or Noggin and they show alot of Huggies and other baby related commercials. Well there is a commercial right now for huggies about being pregnant and such and how you can register with them to win a year worth of their products (i think, i dont pay that much attention to their commercials since we are out of diapers and just about out of pull ups ). Anyway, Katie turns to Sarah and says, yeah we need to get mommy to buy them so that they will put another baby in her tummy..... Umm what??? Oh Katie if it were only that easy!
So I said to her - do you want another baby? she told me yes. she would like a baby brother but she knows that she might get a baby sister instead..... So I then turned to Sarah and said do you want a baby brother or sister to which she replied NO!!!!

Summer time fun...

Here is my 10 on thursday...

1. I had to change my title because there are certain people out there that dont realize I update it if I just keep it as 10 on Thursday. Guess that means I need to blog more.....

2. We went to Knobels this week- a fun local amusement park that is very kid friendly. The girls had fun but were a little scared of some of the rides. Jim and I decided we need to go more often so they get over some of that fear.

3. As afraid of some of the kiddie rides as they were, they were both insistent on riding the teacups or as I now refer to them as the Teacups of Terror. Sarah buried herself into me on one side screaming No no and Katie sat on my other side going STOP THIS RIDE.....

4. Poor Katie - I feel like her and I now have this horrible tradition of going on a ride of terror each year at Knobels. Last year it was the log flume with its 90 degree vertical drop, this year the teacups of terror...

5. I have been having some problems with Sarah and sleeping. She is at that point where she refuses to nap but really needs to and when she refuses to, it makes early evening a real fun time- NOT!!!! We went through this with Katie too but its just really frustrating...

6. I am excited for public school to be out. My niece is coming down in June to spend some time here and we are going to Retileland with the girls - eww but they do have a neat butterfly exhibit! I hop my nephew will want to come and spend some time as well. Plus our friends little girl will be out for the summer and her mom and I are hoping to get together for some play dates!

7. I signed the girls up for storytime at the library and also for swimming lessons in July. I am excited for both....

8. I a m addicted to bejeweled on Facebook....

9. I need to get the last of my seed planted in my garden but the rain keeps getting in my way... Hoepfully the sun will stay out today and I get get them in....

10. It really makes me laugh that I did this whole garden..... If you knew me when I was younger I hated my parents garden. Mainly because I was afraid of snakes in the garden. Now here I am with my own garden. Next thing you know I will be composting (something my parents did as well that I HATED).

Have a great weekend!!

I wanna be....

this morning we were sitting on the porch and enjoying the beautiful morning and Katie was snuggled up to me and says I wanna be a Hockey Player when I grow up, is that ok? I replied that she could be anything she wanted to be. She then said well I wanna be a momma when I grow up. I told her that was wonderful and asked how many kids did she want. Her answer- 5. I then asked her if she had any names picked out. She gave them to me in this order- Gilbert, Max, Connor, Allie and MO. I can figure out where most of the names come from Gilbert- the cat from Caillou, Max- she even told me was after our friends son Max. Connor is her favorite boy name and uses it all the time for her babies. Allie- is a name of a fellow classmate at school but MO has me stumped. Unless she heard Jim and I talk about Mediaocean which everyone called MO??? I don.t know. I told her that I would be really excited to be a grandma to her 5 kids. she then told me oh no mommy - you and are gonna be mommas to them together. Ummmm I don't think so kid......

10 on Thursday

1. Sorry for the lack of a post last week. We were very busy - it was Katies last day of preschool and we had a lot going on....

2. So Katie is done for the summer and looking forward to spending time with Sissy and Mommy. I am sure after a summer together, Katie will be running towards pre-scool in the fall.....

3. We had a lot of great plans for the week but have been stuck inside due to the never ending rain.

4. The rain did hold off a bit on Saturday so the girls and I were able to get in some of my plants into my garden. So far we have got tomato, pepper, eggplant, lettuce and strawberries in.... So much more left to do but due to rain still not in....Bummer....

5. Sarah is on a new kick with playing and she keeps calling me Grandma. I say I am not your Grandma and she goes Oh Mommy I just pee-tend......

6. We had a super busy on weekend - on Sunday we went to Aunt Lisa and Uncle Chris' and watched Christopher get confirmed into the Catholic church. It was a really nice time and the girls had a blast playing with their cousins...

7. On Monday we headed out to my parents to visit with Uncle Kevin, Aunt Jen and cousin Hannah who were in from Colorado. We had such a great time and the girls were thrilled to play with Hannah....I think Hannah loved playing with them too. Sarah keeps calling her my Hannah- she is my cousin!

8. The fighting due to the rain is OUT OF CONTROL. How am I gonna last the summer?

9. Katie's imagination is in overdrive these days. She pretends to ring my doorbell and then she comes in and asks if she can live here forever and then she tells me a whole story about why she needs to live with me.... I just hope she doesn't tell this story out in public though! Since she tells me it complicated or that her mom has many babies and is pregnant again!

1o. We did a fun craft project the other day- it was easy to do - the girls loved it and it killed 2 birds with one stone- a snack and an art project. We made cereal necklaces. We took a piece of yard and strung fruitloops on it. We put tape on one end so they did not come off. then when we were done we tied the ends and they put them on and then proceeded to eat the fruit loops off....

Good times!

Crying big wet Tears....

So last nite I cried big tears..... We went over to middle school to (sob) sign Katie up for soccer in the fall. Why would that make me cry you ask? Well its two- fold. On one hand my baby is growing up and I can't believe she is old enough for soccer! On the other hand I am crying because I am now officially what I detested for so long- a mini van driving soccer mom! Hahaha! However there will be no mom jeans for me!

Birthday Fun!

So I am going to take a break this week from my 10 on Thursday to talk about my birthday. I am at an age where I really don't care to have a big to do any more but having kids changes alot of things and Birthdays are one of them. The girls were beyond excited to celebrate my birthday and Tuesday nite they along with Jim baked me a cake. I got to pick what kind of cake I wanted but Katie was very insistant that we have rainbow sprinkles for it. Luckily Pilsbury had funfetti frosting with rainbow sprinkles. When Jim picked up Katie from pre-school yesterday they came home and frosted the cake... The girls were a tad bit excited and had a hard time not taste testing the cake... Here is what the cake looked like when they were done with it- LOL!

As you can see they could not resist the lure of yellow cake with pink vanilla frosting.... All in all it was delish! I throughly enjoyed it and all they and Jim and Bear did to make the day special for me. Here is a picture of the girls and I after we blew the candles out on the cake. Enjoy!!!!
