How is this for cute?

On Sunday Jim decided to make Chicken Cordon Bleu. Chef Katie decided to help. Here are some pics of the event and Miss Sarah with her wild nap hair... The funniest part of this was when we sat down to eat the finished product- Katie refused to touch it because it had egg on it and she hates eggs.

The kittens are doing good. The eyes are now open and they are starting to try and stand. They are becoming more aware of their surroundings and are starting to take an interest in us. Both girls love them to pices and were delighted last nite when Daisy let them pet the kittens. Here are some recent pics of the kitties....

Happy Wednesday!

So the remaining kittens are doing well. I have to laugh they are such little piggies when they eat. Daisy seems to be doing well too. She is a very protective mamma. The girls are loving the kittens and Sarah constantly says Daisy! Babies! SHHHHHH! with her finger to her nose. They have really surprised me with how good they are with both Daisy and the kittens. Here is a pic of 2 of the kittens from Friday:

We had a very fussy weekend with Sarah and I think she is working on getting her 2 year molars. She keeps coming to me and saying Owie- and then points to her mouth. She is however doing so AWESOME in her attempts to use the potty like a big girl. She pooped on Sunday nite on the potty and peed on it last nite! YAY Sarah!!!! She really is becoming such a little girl. Is it wrong that I miss my baby??
Katie is doing great as well. She is in a big movie stage and loves to watch movies right now. She loves anything Christmas related- her Bear loaned her The Santa Claus 2 movie. Something tells me we will be watching alot of this one just like the Polar Express. She also sleeps everynite with a Snowman Blanket. I saw Snowman and Santa Claus sheets in a catalogue yesterday and am debating getting them for her but I know she will want to have them on in the middle of summer. That girl loves Christmas!

The kittens are here!

So this morning we were awoken by Daisy. Jim took her back downstairs and started to make coffee - he went to look for her and found her and 1 kitten behind our recliner in our living room. We have it angled so it provided a nice quiet corner for her..... She went on to have 2 more kittens before I took the girls to daycare. When I got back she was just finishing giving birth to the 5th and final one. All 5 look to be healthy. We have 4 orange and 1 black but has a white belly and a little white on his face along with some orange.... Here is a pic. More pics will come in the next few days!

A very eventful day

SO....Yesterday we took Daisy to the vet... I was anxious to have it confirmed she was a girl and that she was healthy and how old my"kitten" was.... YEAH.... Daisy is definitely a girl and is carrying Huey Duey and Luey and maybe more or maybe less! Yup my kitten is approx between a year - year and half old and is not a kitten but a mama to be! Knock me over with a feather! She is pretty far pregnant- vet beleives she will give birth within the next week- week and half.... Jim and I very concerned though because she was malnourished when we found her....So we shall see what happens. As a result though we are not saying too much to the kids....

We also went with cousin Brandon and Jen (Is that better Aunt Kathy?) to Knoebels amusement park and had a great time but boy am I exhausted today.... The girls had a blast. Katie was a big girl and rode the log flume with Mommy- we have a funny pic from the event....But Katies favorite ride was the bouncy house....

Sarah my little dare devil- had a blast riding the cars and the planes.... We let her go into the ball pit and boy was that a mistake. She loved it but this little boy (about 6 or so) kept coming up to her and trying to bury her in balls... I became that parent and yelled at him... OF course his parents were no where around.... Ugh- then he would not leave her alone and kept coming over to her going you want me to bury you? SO I kept yelling at him.....

All in all a good day but does anyone want a free kitten????

Catch Up....

The girls are adjusting well to Daisy. Katie follows her around and cries big heartfelt tears when Daisy does not want to play with her. I had to explain to her that Daisy is a baby and does not know how to play and we have to be patient with her and teach her.... Sarah is getting more use to her- she now goes Daisy? and when I say she is under the table or where ever she might be - Sarah holds her finger to her nose and tells me SHHHH....Not sure where the finger to the nose instead of mouth came from but its quite comical when she does it....

So the terrible 2s have hit Sarah and we are facing some doozies of temper tantrums lately... She gets so mad, she bunches her hands into fists, tightens her whole body and sticks her face out and yells till she is red in the face.... Its hard not to laugh at the sight she makes but usually we are trying to diffuse whatever situation has caused said tantrum.....ITs really lovely when she does this in the middle of a restaurant or store....

With the back to school sales going on we took advantage of some sales and got both girls backpack on wheels. They now strut into daycare like they are the BOMB with their backpacks.... They are great for mommy and daddy especially on Monday and Fridays when we are carrying sleeping bags and blankets and other items back and forth from home and school.

I took Katie to the mall last nite for a little one on one time and to get her a new pair of sneakers- I swear her feet grew overnite! She was desperate for light up ones like several of her classmate so I took her to Sears.... Where we got a neat pair of Mickey light up sneaks. She proudly showed them off to everyone this morning by stomping her feet all over the place.

Tonite Katie told Jim that she is going to marry the following people- Jaidean (her best friend and resident bad boy at school), Spiderman, Lightening McQueen (from the movie CARS) and Aiden - another little boy that use to go to her school... I said wow that's a lot of weddings and she told Jim and I that was so she could have lots of wedding cake! How does she come up with this stuff??? She has not even been to a wedding yet.... Late on tonite she told me she thought Spiderman and Batman would like to marry... Yeah I was not going there with her.... I guess she will really like going to Aunt Michele and Dustin's wedding next year.....

Tomorrow we are going to take her and Sarah with my cousin and his girlfriends to a local amusement park.... WE should have nice weather for it!

Take care!

Great Quote

I was reading another blog the other day and came across the following quote- I have no idea who said it but it has really stuck with me and I think its great words to live by:

"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. Its about learning to dance in the rain."

I think I need to dance in the rain more.....
