How the times have changed,....

Its Friday nite here and we celebrated it with a good pizza, some popcorn and candy and a kid friendly movie- Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2. The kids loved the movie. I was sittitng her thinking to myself - boy how the times have changed. 1o years ago Friday nite meant going out for happy hour, having a few beers or cocktails then either heading down the street to the local pizza joint or heading home and stopping at the pizza joint on the way home to get a slice of pizza. Now its really different, but I would not change it for the world. One of my favorite memories from childhood is watching movies on VHS (yeah I am dating myself) and having popcorn and A treat soda. I hope doing this with my kids creates some favorite memories!

Love is in the air

So Katie has this friend from preschool that goes to a different school then her. She has been devestated that she cant see him anymore and luckinly we ran into his mom around the holidays and my husband passed along our info. He came to her birthday party and she was so happy! All she kept talking about was how love was going to come together at her party... Well the party came and went and he came and they had fun but he was more into their other friends from preschool that were there....... So tonite we were talking at dinner and out of the blue she says yeah but that love when out the window! Not my love mom, I still love him but I dont think his love is there anymore....

OH my lord! When did my baby grow up and pleae make it stop!!!!

Hellooooo

Peeking in and looking around... Anyone still here??? Sorry for the long absence. We have, to put it mildly been busy. We had a nice Christmas and then we started celebrating Katies birthday. My little gal is 6! SIX! Where does the time go? She actually just had her party this past weekend at the Y's pool and had a blast with all her friends....

She is doing awesome in school and just got her second report card and is doing sooooo good. We are both so proud of her! And she loves school and going....

Sarah is adjusting to a new teacher - she moved up due to her age and to being in school full time. Its been a bit of a rough transition but we are working through it and the promise of some one on one time with mommy has been working to keep the tears to a minimum.... Plus I think she has great fun with her teacher - she is very creative and they get to do some neat things... They ate hot dogs shaped as octupi last week and she loved that.....

The reason she is now full time? Well that is because I got into my program and am carring 14 credits this semester! ITs been a transition for me as well! The program is pretty intense and lot more work then I had previously but I am loving it!!!!

Sarah's first Christmas Concert

We have been attending Katies preschool concerts for a few years now but this year it was finally Sarah's turn. The kids all did an awesome job. Below are some pics. One is with Sarah and her BFF Gabrielle. Down at the bottom is one of Katie and her best bud Aidan. Sorry for the red eye on these, I have not cleaned them up. I wanted to get them posted...

Thankfulness

I have been taking mental notes the last few days and realizing that I have a lot to be thankful for. First and foremost, I am thankful for such a wonderful husband and two beautiful and healthy girls. I am thankful for a wonderful father in law and two wonderful parents. I am thankful for our families and our friends. I am thankful that we have a roof over our heads and food in our bellies. I am thankful for the opportunity to go back to school and start a new career. I just have been taking note of things around me and cant help but feel really blessed and thankful for all that we have.

I hope whereever you are this year that you have a wonderful and blessed thanksgiving.

A thanksgiving funny

Sarah went to school today and came home very excited. She kept telling me we made pig worms today. I kept asking her what??? Knowing that the letter of the week is only around L or so.....I finally dug her sheet from her teacher that tells about her day our of her backpack.... Yeah, those pig worms- they are known as pilgrims to the rest of us......
