kids bop

I always thought it was the silliest thing.... I mean a bunch of kids singing todays songs- good lord why???? Well Katie had been seeing it on tv and kept saying she wanted it.... So I broke down and bought it for them both for Valentines. OMG They love it and while its still annoying at least I get to listen to songs from the radio that I like. So what if its not Lady Gaga or Fergie Freg singing it - I still get to hear it... This is much better then listening to the Backyardigans for the 100th billion time....

The funniest thing is if I dont have the cd on but instead have the radio - the girls still get excited and think I have the cd on.......

Kickin it old school

I am not sure what prompted it but the girls are on a Bugs Bunny and friends kick. they love looney toons and all the characters. So much so, Katie will come up and pretend she is eating a carrot and go What up Doc? Makes us laugh every time! They love it!

they also got the old Harvey toons and have been watching Casper the Friendly Ghost, and Baby Huey among others. We also have Hong Kong Fuey which Sarah loves to watch.....

How much does your pull up hold???

I am usually pretty good about doing laundry and make sure things dont get into the laundry basket that shouldnt be there, but lately Sarah is giving me a run for my money. Lately during quiet time aka nap time she has taken to going in her pull up and then discarding the pull up and changing herself. Yeah great times. Let me tell you, if I didnt hate doing laundry before, I despise it now. Today I accidently let a pull up get by me and it ended up in the washer. Let me tell you - if you never have checked them out, the Target brand pull ups rock! I took it out of the washer still in tact! And it was holding a ton of water! So it begs the question- how much does your pull up hold?

Birthdays Galore!

We have been on the birhtday circuit lately it seems. It started right before Christmas and we are still going with yesterday having not 1 but 2 birthdays...... Katie and I got to go bowling with her friend Cali for her party and then last nite the whole family went our neighbors and friends Connors for Katie's friend Aidans party. A great time was had by all but by the end of the nite I was exhausted. I was so proud of both girls last nite though. Aidan had a magician at his party and both girls sat really good and were really into the magic show. Katie even volunteered to help with a magic trick. she told me that both parties were the bestest, so I am sure they had a great time.

Today is a cleanup/ laundry day and then tonite we settle down to watch the superbowl game. Bear has got a great pot of chili on the stove and I cant wait to settle down with a bowl and watch the game. And the commercials because that's what its really about for me.

Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin

So the other nite the girls wanted cuddle time with mommy. It was bedtime and they both piled in to our bed and snuggled down. Katie was out in two minutes flat. Sarah was a little more restless. So I was taking my hand and very lightly rubbing her hair and her face trying to calm her down. She then decided to return the favor and rubbed my face till she hit my chin. MOMMA WHAT IS THAT she said getting all upset. That's my chin hair Sarah, I need to get rid of it. I dont have that Momma, How come I dont have that. No Sarah you dont only big people get that. OH ok momma. I get it when I get older..... What a thing to look forward too!!!

A Easy and yummy treat!

I made something tonite that is so easy and yummy and yet I forget at times to make it cause it is so easy. I made a chocolate pudding pie with bannanas. It was soooo yummy! We really enjoyed. I put cool whip on it as well and the girls were beyond thrilled and told me it was just the bestest pie ever! All I did was take a graham cracker crust, slice 2 bannanas and put in the crust then make the pudding according to directions for pie and put in the crust and refrigerate....

SOOOOO GOOD!

some Ramblings

Not clear cut title for this one as I have several things I have wanted to post about..... On Thursday I had the privledge of stopping by our friend Jody's house and photographing her newborn baby Emily. Emily is almost 6 weeks old and is just precious. Holding her for a few minutes and hearing those little cries made me nostaglic and gave me a little case of baby fever... but then on Saturday we went out to dinner with the girls and I so enjoyed the fact that they are growing up and we can do things like go out to dinner and let them set together in a booth that the baby fever passed very quickly.....

We went to our local chinese restaurant and instead of take out we decided to eat there. The girls were thrilled and were fascinated with the cook in the kitchen working the wok. This put them in the frame of mind of their favorite show Kai-lan and how Kai lan's yey yey (grandfather) made them dumplings. so we ordered some steamed dumplings for them to try. Sarah wouldnt try them but Katie liked them......

Sarah on the other hand had her eyes on something else. This place also does decent sushi and mommy went ahead and ordered herself an unagi roll (eel) and Sarah begged to try it. So we decided since eel is cooked to let her. Oh my gosh the faces she made were so funny and cute.... She looked at me and said too salty! Then she begged for more! Looks like I might be ordering 2 rolls in the near future.

The other week I took both of them to Friendlys for lunch and they both again sat together in the booth and ate such good lunches, fribbles (which are like a shake) and ice cream. I was amazed where they put it all......

Katie had her 5th birthday party the other week and in true fashion we had a snow storm. Lukily it was not bad and her friends all came. They had a great time swimming and then eating pizza and cake.

We are dealing with alot of not sharing and fighting right now and it continues to be a struggle. Santa brought them a dollhouse to share and they constantly fight over it. They won't play with it nicely it at all. I am thinking of getting a timer and setting it and letting them have turns because I dont know what else to do.

Reese continues to get bigger and more of a love bug. WE are still struggling with potty training and its a real bet on who will be potty trained first -him or Sarah.

It is pouring rain here today but not that cold so I took Reese for a nice walk. He was not happy with me . We got about a 3rd of the way around the neighborhood and then he started pulling me back. He shivered all the way back...... We are continuing to work with the girls as well to teach them to be good with the dog. They tend to grab and squeeze him alot, which he takes to a point and then barks at them which scares them......
