:)Since we went skating the other week, both girls are obsessed with skating! To the point that they get up every morning and dig socks out of their dressers and then pretend to skate on the hard wood floors... This is driving mommy nuts because they go through several pairs of socks a day.... I feel like Laundry is a never ending chore as is....
Needless to say, I think the Easter Bunny might be bringing skates for the girls this year....
We had a nice valentines here- both girls had parties at school and came home hopped up on sugar! Oh Joy! They got lots of treats and valentines from their class mates.... We did not do much on the day itself. Just ordered Thai food and got happy meals for the girls and Bear :)
After being on Bactrum antibiotic for 20 days per Katies doctor to try and clear up the lingering nose crud- she is sick again... Ugh! We are anxiously awaiting spring here...
Hope where ever you are that you are having a good day.

Skating!
SO Jim got into touch with some of his old friends from cabletime recently.. They are very involved in a rollerblade hockey league here. Since Katie is very into anything sports, Jim took her to practice the other nite and she loved it.... So Jim's friend told us about open skate on Sunday afternoons so we went today....
Katie was a little scared at first and did not really want to skate as evidenced by this pic:
Sarah on the other hand-was a natural, she took to it like water and did not want to stop for anything....

So I talked to Katie for a bit and explained if she wanted to play hockey she had to learn to skate and this was truly one of those times I was thanking God we have Noggin because we had recently watched an epsiode of Little Bill where he was learning to skate and was upset that he could not do it right away.... After that she told me she wanted to try again like Little Bill had... She went back out and after two minutes of us holding her hand - she was off- skating down the rink and back... Here is a picture of both of them skating at the end:

We had a great time and it was a great way for us to all be active and exercise as a family.. We will definitely be back soon if not next weekend...

Jan 20th - a Historic Day....
Regardless of your political affiliations, yesterday was a historic day for our country.... I think my heart burts with pride yesterday afternoon when Katie ran in from daycare all excited- Mommy, Mommy I got to see the new president on TV! Broccoli Obama! Lol, I guess I need to work with her on his first name a little bit! IT was so cute though to see how excited she was over the new president! This morning when I dropped her off I talked to the teacher about it and she said her whole class was so excited to watch it and that she said she has heard every version imaginable of his first name from those 3 and 4 year olds....

4 Years Old Today
Our sweet Katie bug is 4 yrs old today. I don't know why exactly but 4 is hitting me hard... Really hard.. I have been so sentimental this past week. Jim and I lay in bed last nite remembering where we were and the events of 1/5/05 and 1/6/05. We were laughing at remembering how my mom kept me walking to keep labor coming. She made me walk the whole store of Wegmans with the pretense of Oh I want to look for such and such.... Then she let me come home only to make me walk over to K-mart and made me walk through the entire store.... I was so pooped but she did not stop there- her and Jim made me do laps through the house since the weather was getting nasty outside....
I did so many laps around the house with Murphy right by my side. He knew something was up and he stayed by my side that nite guarding me.... Around midnite my water broke... I remember crying and my mom asking me what was wrong and I was I think I just peed my pants- and she was like no I think your water broke..... So we called the on call midwife and she told us to come on in.
Poor Jim we had sent him to bed at 10p in case nothing happened and a mere 2 hours later we were waking him up to drive us in an ice storm the 10 minutes to the hospital...
What followed was a very long and laborous birth but at the end I had a beautiful healthy little girl to show for it... At 841pm on January 6, 2005 we welcomed Katherine Lois Folmar into our lives and our hearts....
Happy Birthday Katie!
Love Mommy, Daddy, and Sarah!

Tis the Season
We have had alot of holiday related events the last few days....Friday nite we took a ride on the Polar Express. This year we did it through the alumni association from Penn college. It was really nice- the college had their own car and they served milk and cookies. they tell the story of the polar express and then conductor comes around and punches your ticket. then it goes to the montoursville airport and picks up Santa. Santa then comes through every car and stops to visit the kids. My kids acted as I expected. Both were shy and I would say Sarah was even a bit scared. Santa also brought some friends of his- the gingerbread boy, frosty and rudolph. Poor Jim. he must have had permanent grooves in his shoulder from Sarah burying her head in to him..... She was not a friend of santas friends! Katie made me laugh out loud. After they went past she grabbed my hand and said Momma- DEMS not real! Dem is costumes!
On Sunday we made christmas cookies.... Yummy....Pictures will follow.. Lets just say Sarah is not a fan of being neat.... But the best part of the day was after we were done and Katie came up and grabbed my leg and hugged it and said Momma I had such fun- thanks so much for making cookies with us..... Moments like that make it all worth it....
Tonite was Katies's pre-school concert. She did great. Aunt Michele got a preview on the phone tonite when she called and she seemed to really enjoy it..... I took lots of pics and will have them to share soon.....Katie was thrilled after the performance because her teacher - Miss Lindsay gave out fruit flavored candy canes ( Miss K is not a fan of mint) and she got her favorite color- blue!
Tomorrow nite is our nite to make our gingerbread house.... should be fun!

Where did the year go?
It's hard to believe that we are looking at the end of 2008 already. Even harder for me to believe is that my first baby will turn 4 in a few weeks. Where has the time gone? She went from this tiny little baby who didnt like to sleep to this little girl who still fights going to bed :) She is such a character these days. Bear says she needs to go into business selling Real Estate with our friend kim. Why you ask - because she is such a little saleswoman she can talk you into anything! Lol.....
Katie is also very into Christmas this year. She talks about Ho Ho every day and is so excited for Christmas to get here. Yet on Sat we went with Brandon's Jen to Harrisburg for a craft show and she would not get any closer then 5 feet near Santa.....
We go on the Polar Express train ride on Friday nite so it should be interesting to see how both girls do. Last year Sarah would not have anything to do with Santa. Katie talked to him but again- would not get close....
Sarah is really starting to get into Christmas as well. She keeps pointing to every Holiday decoration and going HO HO! She loves the tree and has redecorated it for Mommy and Daddy several times already.....
I am very happy to report that Sarah has moved past her poopy playing problems in school- thank god! Now we are working on staying seated in our chair.....
We have been doing an Avent Calendar with the girls and they are really enjoying it. We got one the end of season last year that is basically a magnetic board and with numbered boxes around it. In each box for each day is a magnetic figure of the navity. Its really nice and has been a great way to try and teach them that the holiday is about more then just getting gifts from Santa.
Last Year dear friends of ours bought Sarah the nativity scene which was Little People. Both girls have a great time playing with it but they also keep rearranging my ceramic nativity scene! Katie told me its because I did not have it right! LOL...
Jim and I are really enjoying seeing the magic of these holidays through the girls eyes.....
